About the apprenticeship

An apprenticeship is a paid job where the employee learns and gains valuable experiences. Alongside on-the-job training, apprentices spend at least 20% of their working hours completing classroom-based learning to eventually achieve a nationally recognised qualification – in this case, a degree in Biomedical Science.

What will the role entail?

You will be employed with us working full time in one of our laboratories, initially taking on a support staff role with your levels of responsibility increasing as you progress with your training.

You will be supported with your learning through the apprenticeship 20% ‘off the job training’, which includes attendance at university one day a week during term time.

You will have the Sonic Training Academy team supporting you through your degree, developing your laboratory skills and finally taking you through the IBMS registration portfolio and assessment to achieve your HCPC registration as a biomedical scientist.
